The car that started it all was a small coupe based on a modest 4CV base. Jean Rédelé, the car’s creator, was very talented and in 1955 he founded the popular Alpine brand of French sports cars. In rallying, the A110 berlinette enjoyed its first major success in 1971 when it won the Monte Carlo Rally three times. The fiberglass-polyester body pioneered its use in France. In 1973, the A310, A610, and A GTA models from Alpine became world champions in rally racing.
This book tells the story of engineers and drivers who have worked with cars, and explains how Alpine cars have changed over time.
