How did you come up with the idea for this product?

PARAMA NATURALS was started with the vision to bring back the benefits of time-tested traditions and pure, 100% natural, powerful ingredients in busy, modern lives, through a range of essentials for skincare and wellness, which are highly effective, convenient to use and extremely safe for use by babies, people with sensitive skins, and by everyone.

An engineer by training, a management professional and a mother of two, Geeta Prakash, the founder of Parama Naturals, had several experiences over the years, during her personal and professional life, which fitted together like a jigsaw and resulted in her ultimately starting PARAMA NATURALS.

These included –

– The issues that her baby daughter faced with popular skincare products like baby oils and moisturizers, which led her to research their ingredients, and resulted in alarming findings

– Discovery of how the skin not only protects us but also absorbs most things that we apply on it, leading to even long-term and irreversible health effects

– Hectic schedules during a busy corporate career and as a stay-at-home mum which left little time for self-care, and the endless quandary to choose between convenient and pure

– A deep dive into holistic living, which led her to the delights of ancient traditions and the effectiveness of natural time-tested ingredients like turmeric and cold-pressed oils

So with the firm belief that skincare products, especially the leave-on ones, should be “so pure that you can eat them”, and yet convenient enough to be used on-the-go, by everyone, from babies, to pregnant moms, to people with sensitive skins, and all ages and genders, she started PARAMA (the ULTIMATE) NATURALS.

What makes your product special?

One of the cornerstones of PARAMA NATURALS products is a stain-free extract of Turmeric, India’s ancient secret for skincare and wellness, for all ages and genders, which protects, prevents, heals and beautifies. Extracted from virgin turmeric rhizomes using state-of-the-art supercritical CO2 technology, this extract is rich in antioxidants and turmerones. We combine this potent extract in suitable amounts with a balancing blend of cold-pressed oils which are rich in minerals and vitamins, and which work at different skin layers. The natural active ingredients penetrate deep into the tissue to revitalise and rejuvenate the cell functioning and tackle a variety of skin issues.

What has been the best part of your experience?

I have enjoyed the experience of creating the product concepts.

First, getting the inspiration of the idea from daily practices (Dinacharya) of ancient traditions and Ayurveda, Indian science of long healthy life.

Second, studying modern scientific journals to corroborate the benefits of the ingredients used.

Finally, formulating them using 100% natural, most often food-grade, ingredients and herbal extracts, in suitable proportion, to ensure efficacy with purity and then testing them for the same.

Apart from multiple tests and laboratory studies, our products are tested first on myself, my kids and immediate family, and then the extended circles.

I feel gratified that our products are making a positive impact on the lives of people, especially when I see users getting benefitted by them, when they come back for repeat purchases for themselves or their loved ones, or refer them to others.
